About Rising Titans Collaborative

What is Rising Titans?

Health, education, and resource organizations, have come together to work as partners and create initiatives to ensure Lorain’s children are prepared to enter Kindergarten. Rising Titans is made up of 15 partners who’s mission aligns with the health and education of Lorain’s littlest learners. Together we work together to meet the needs of our community’s early childhood education to support children ages 0-5 and their families. The ultimate goal is to have every Lorain child prepared for Kindergarten from birth, strengthen the whole family, and create a stronger community.

The Collaborative forms initiatives from our four pillars – Empowering Families, Engaging Families, Healthy Beginnings and Aligning Systems. We work together to create data measures under each one of the pillars, which drives the work around our Kindergarten Readiness mission.

Rising Titans is powered by United Way of Greater Lorain County, and is one of three Kindergarten Readiness Collaboratives and one of eleven total across the county. Our partner Neighborhood Alliance supports the Director along with Collaborative goals, the mission, and all initiatives as Lead Partner.

Our Mission

The Rising Titans Collaborative and its partners have the overarching goals to create community wide kindergarten readiness. Our goal is to design a system that will help parents prepare their children for kindergarten from birth.

We are working alongside hundreds of families in Lorain since the Collaborative has been fully active in 2018. As a Collaborative, we look forward to reaching as many children and their families in the city of Lorain as we can through Collaborative partner centers, advocates and programming. 90% of brain development happens before age 5, and we are here to support you!
